The car is the Porsche 356 (modeled sometime ago) but the rendering is a new one ...
For lighting I just put the hdri map in the skylight slot map, I put the same hdri map in the Environment/Background Switcher[mi] and used the shader Matte/Shadow/Reflection in the plane under the car to receive the right shadows.
The materials were from Jeff Patton's site and the carpaint
was the JP_carpaint_Orange,tweaked a little.
For the renderings I used 3D Max 2009 64bit and Mental Ray with Final Gather.
The amazing hdri&Backplates were from HDRi Locations - www.hdri-locations.com of Thomas Suurland.
